1. Create an attractive booth with a large professional sign displayed at eye level, a client or customer needs to know who you are, what you are offering and why they need it. Make it clear to them what you specialize in. For optimum location pick your booth in advance from the floor plan we send you and e-mail us your choice.
2. Actively market yourself; before during and after the event.
For example:
- Send the marketing flyer you received to your e-mail and contact list letting them know you’re going to be exhibiting and lecturing.
- Collect addresses and e-mails at each event. We will give you guest passes to send next time.
- Place ads in the program book or arrange to have your bio or banner on the web site.
- Help to arrange or participate in interviews on radio or TV prior to the event.
- Dress in the spirit of the event. We recommend dressing in a manner appropriate to your field of expertise, tradition, authenticity, or in some other authentic or colorful way that will make you stand out, or attract attention to yourself.
3. Show up consistently & on time for events or lectures that you are doing. Give yourself time after set-up to get grounded, clear, & focused. If you’re not going to make it due to illness, car trouble etc, call with plenty of notice. We have a waiting list of exhibitors who want your space. Set up is 7:00 – 9:00 am. If you can’t arrive by 9:30 am, call us at (508) 866-3035 the day of the event or we will assume you are not coming and your space may be given to someone on the waiting list.
4. Know what you want to accomplish. It’s a good idea to have one major objective that supports your overall goal. A massage therapist may have a goal of doing 10-15 sessions at the show and establish 3-5 new regular clients for private sessions at their office. A goal helps to energize you & focus your activities before, during and after the show.
5. Be a good Neighbor. You are in close quarters with many people whose environmental allergies or emotional sensitivities may conflict with your activity.
- Don’t burn sage or incense inside the exhibit hall. Many people can’t handle it. This is a conflict waiting to happen.
- If you play music at your booth, keep the volume at a level that works for your neighbor as well. If in doubt ask.
- If you want a TV in your booth, ask us when you register. We will need to locate your booth away from practitioners.
6. Optimize your attitude. Take some time after setup is complete to lift your spirits in what ever way works for you. It is a well–known principle of sales that when you are promoting a product or service, what you are actually selling is your STATE OF CONCIOUSNESS. If a cloud of negativity hangs over your booth customers will avoid you like the plague. A psychic reader or healer who is depressed or lethargic is likely to bring their clients down to their level; on the other hand inspiration and enthusiasm are contagious and healing.
7. Be available at your booth during the hours of 10:00am - 7:00pm. Leaving your booth makes it difficult to connect with potential clients. Unless you’re wearing name tags, two practitioners in a booth sends the message you’re not available {Attendees may think you’re with a client}. Don’t leave early unless it’s an emergency, and never without arrangement’s with the staff. When exhibitors start breaking down their booths, the public perceives that the event is as well. Also it’s not fair to the other exhibitors that are planning for a full day of exhibiting their work and connecting with potential clients
8. Evaluate your results. Continually evaluate and work on improving your skills and attitude, your visual presentation and the marketing of your booth. If you notice others being more successful than you, pay attention to what they are doing that you aren’t. If you want outside feedback ask your neighbors or the event staff for suggestions.
9. Have fun and stay positive. You never know what each encounter will bring, then or latter on.
“Advertising and Promotion”
Our advertising is wide spread and thorough. We will be asking all attendees how they heard about each event in order to continually maximize the most cost effective advertising. We allocate over one third of your fees for advertising. The marketing of Holistic Celebrations is a group effort. Holistic Celebrations will be offering exhibitors free guest passes, with your name on them to distribute to clients, friends and family. In exchange for your efforts on behalf of Holistic Celebrations. We will reward you with discount coupons {dharma dollars} good towards readings, healings, booth fees, or advertising in the Holistic Celebrations magazine. For every one of your guests that attends we give a $1 discount coupon to the exhibitor attendee whose name is listed on the pass. The individual with the most passes turned in at the event receives double the discount. We will need to know at least 4 weeks before the event how many free guests passes you would like.
“The Best and Most Informative Exhibit”
There will be a prize for the most attractive and informative exhibit. The prize is 50% of your booth at the next event. The attendees will do the voting. There will be ballots at each table for them to check off, so please be sure to ask the attendees who visit your booth to fill one out.
I look forward to meeting you all.
Blessings,
